Dispaly Rating/Review Stars in Google Search – Schema & WordPress
Schema.org markup code is something that shouldn’t be over looked, it’s recognized by major search engines including Google, Bing and Yahoo.
This video tutorial will show you how I add product and service reviews to my wordpress self hosted sites using Schema markup code.
As you will see once the page/post has been indexed by Google it then displays Rating stars next to my site listing when it appears in the search results.
If you wish to have rating displayed in the web results, you must make sure the following are steps are completed correctly.
Step 1: Configure Google Authorship with your site
Step 2: Install Plugin Schema Creator
There is several different free plugins that claim to add schema markup code, but the plugin that I use and recommend is called “Schema Creator” by Raven. It works and is easy to use.
Step 3: TEST Post URL – Rich Snippet Testing Tool
After publishing a post that contains a schema markup review, copy and paste the URL into Google’s Rich Snippet testing tool to see if it’s worked.
It can take hours/days/weeks for the rating stars to appear, it depends on how fast Google indexes your post.
