Updating To HTML5 With Schema.org Support On Genesis 2.0

Jump to 2:48 to discover how Genesis 2.0 — provides an easy solution to update to HTML5 and add Schema support.

HTML5 will be the new standard for HTML.

schema.org is a collaboration by Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo! to improve the web by creating a structured data markup schema supported by major search engines.

The HTML5 microdata specification is a way to label content to describe a specific type of information—for example, reviews, person information, or events.

Google doesn’t use markup for ranking purposes at this time—but rich snippets (that are created on the SERPs as a result of microdata) can make your web pages appear more prominently in search results, so you may see an increase in traffic.
